Our school

The Lindenschule is a two-form entry, inclusive community elementary school and open all-day school in a central city location. Since the summer of 2014, the Lindenschule has had a partially newly constructed school building at its disposal, which offers many prerequisites for future-oriented, inclusive all-day schooling in terms of its structural concept, design and equipment.

Around 210 pupils are taught here in bright and modern classrooms. 130 children take part in the educational afternoon program at the Lindenschule. This childcare program is run by the Förder- und Trägerverein Lindenschule e.V. The morning and afternoon staff work closely together at the Lindenschule.

The multi-professional team, consisting of the school management, the all-day coordinator, the teachers, the special needs teacher, the social pedagogues, the nursery school teachers, the inclusion specialists, the school social worker and other employees with different professions, forms a large, reliable network.

The eight classrooms as well as the various differentiation and specialist rooms (art room, music room, large movement room, Snoezel room, research room, work room, language development room, school library), the teaching kitchen, the canteen, the play and meeting room and the meeting room are used by both the morning and afternoon teams at the Lindenschule.
Individual, contemporary teaching and learning is also made possible and supported in the corridors by the installation of appropriate table and seating groups.

The diversity and differences of all members of our school community are accepted as a matter of course, seen as an enrichment and used as an opportunity. At the Lindenschule, we learn and live together, we value the promotion of community and the social skills of our pupils with the aim that they accept themselves and respect others. At the Lindenschule, we value respectful interaction between all members of the school community, a cheerful atmosphere conducive to learning and open and trusting cooperation.
We focus on the needs of the individual child, creating opportunities to challenge pupils with special talents and inclinations as well as opportunities for support and encouragement. We see the need for a reflective approach to emotions in order to develop a holistic personality. To enable pupils to face future challenges, we promote their independence as well as their community skills and willingness to take responsibility.
This is supported by the strengthening and preventative work of our school social worker and additional projects (e.g. team spirit training, the Osnabrück drama workshop, basic first aid as a project in year 3, etc.).

Another focus of our school is the promotion of responsible media literacy. Pupils at the Lindenschule are prepared for life in the media society. This includes the competent and responsible use of media and IT. Media and IT are used as didactic tools in lessons in a way that is appropriate to the situation and age, especially for individualized and cooperative lessons. The Lindenschule maintains a diverse network with various cooperation partners in the regional education network. There is also a supra-regional cooperation with a Dutch elementary school.
