At the beginning of February, the first group from the fourth year started building their own hula hoops. Under the expert guidance of Christian Uch, each of the children used their manual skills to build their own hoop out of PE tubes. They then went on to decorate the dark tubes with colorful adhesive strips, so that in the end numerous beautiful individual hula hoops were created and the girls and boys proudly went home after the first workshop.
In another workshop, the dedicated trainer showed the children the basics and tricks with the hula hoop. The fourth-graders were thrilled and amazed at the many possibilities that a hula hoop offers for movement.
After the second group from the fourth grade had also built their own hula hoops at the end of February and learned the basics and tricks with the hoops, a joint grand finale was scheduled for 15.03.2024.
In the sports hall at Grünstiege, all participants were able to show what they had learned from Christian Uch. In addition to a small group challenge, Christian also gave the children a variety of ideas for playing and training with the hoop on this day.
The girls and boys were enthusiastic about the workshops and also about their dedicated trainer, who was able to motivate all the children immediately with his friendly and positive manner.

Many children spend their leisure activities sitting down because digitalization has taken up a lot of space in this area. As a school, we try to counteract this by offering a wide range of physical activities in the morning and in the educational afternoon program. Movement is not only fun, it also has a positive effect on learning.
We would therefore also like to thank the Förderverein, without whose help the hula hoop workshops would not have been possible.
