As a school, we have set out to introduce our pupils to the issues and problems of sustainable development. Numerous activities in the context of sustainable education have already become part of everyday school life. This also includes the excursion of the fourth classes to the Zwillbrock Biological Station. The Zwillbrock Biological Station Education Center is a partner of the state program "School of the Future".

While one group hiked to the observation tower to watch the flamingos, the other group went "netting" at the pond.
As part of their lessons, the girls and boys had learned about pond animals from factual texts. Before actively working with the landing nets, the pupils were able to talk to Ms. Hüning from the Biological Station about what they had learned in class and apply their knowledge.

Under the expert guidance of Ms. Hüning, the pupils then caught pond animals such as "rudder bugs", "pond newts", "dragonfly larvae" and a frog. For better observation, the animals were carefully collected and placed in prepared water bowls. After close observation, the children naturally released all the animals back into their habitat.
In the end, everyone was delighted with this eventful day in glorious weather.
