Successful participation in the robotics competition

To take part in the competition, the teams had been training for around six months to program a robot that had to complete tasks on a playing field. For example, it had to bring a small toy bus to the mobility center or vegetables from the garden to the Smart City.

The robot only had 2:30 minutes to complete a total of 13 tasks, so the robotics teams spent a lot of time over the six months thinking about which tasks could be completed in which order in order to successfully complete as many requirements as possible.

Another task was to program the robot so that it would drive as desired. This proved to be "tricky", as even the smallest inaccuracies in the programming meant that the robots did not reach their destination.

Both Linden School teams worked diligently on the tasks once a week this school year in an all-day club under the direction of Mr. Knoche and Mr. Thierschmann and were thus able to successfully drive their programmed robots "Robby" and "Robina" through the course on the day of the competition.

In the end, we as Lindenschule can be proud of both teams, which achieved second and fourth place this year.

The children had a lot of fun programming and driving their robots during the workshop and the competition and definitely want to take part again next year.
