"Hello, Mr. Policeman!" was the cheerful greeting from children in their first year at school. They were taking part in the exciting bike check for the first time.

Every year after the fall break, the Gronau police help the families at our school to ensure that their children are safe on the roads and come to our schoolyard for a bike check. Every pupil at Lindenschule can have their bike checked by the friendly police officers on this day.

Right at the beginning of the school day, Mr. Meyer and Mr. Knief from the police came to the schoolyard. It was very exciting for the pupils to see a real police car up close. Then came the bicycle inspection. Roadworthy bicycles were immediately given a corresponding sticker. The girls and boys were then visibly proud to show off their roadworthy bikes.
In the case of bicycles that are not yet roadworthy, parents will be informed accordingly and given the opportunity to present the bicycle again at a later date.
The district police authority has created videos to support cycling training, which explain the important points in a child-friendly way. On the page https//borken.polizei.nrw/medien/das-verkehrssichere-fahrrad-1 there is a video that shows what is important for a roadworthy bicycle.
We would like to thank the Gronau police for their great support!
