SCHOOL FESTIVAL

Happy school party at the Linden School

During a project week, all of the pupils had previously worked intensively on the cultural diversity of the school. Games and clothing, stories, songs and dances, different scripts and languages, geographical knowledge, the various religions and, of course, typical local dishes were the focus of the lessons during the project week. The topics that the children worked on in class were taken up and supplemented by the staff of the Linden School's educational afternoon area. Even lunch in the canteen, which is freshly cooked at the Lindenschule, was a culinary trip around the world.

The results of the project week were finally presented during a large, colorful school party on Friday, 28.06.2024. The program started on stage with a wonderful song performance by the second-year pupils on the topic of tolerance and cohesion. A song with a clear message that was once again sent out into the world musically by the children and adults of the Lindenschule on this day.

We are all different and that makes us the same again. We stick together, help, respect and honor each other. These principles are firmly anchored in our school program.

Over the course of the afternoon, other program items followed on stage, such as the drum demonstrations of the third year, the performances of the dance club and a performance by the majorette dance group of the SG Gronau. All of the performances earned great applause from the numerous spectators and brought happiness and pride to the faces of the previously somewhat excited children.

Visitors to the school festival were amazed by the digital country exhibition, the audio stations and the many results that the children had collected during the project week and which could now be seen on the exhibition walls. Some of the products created during the project week were also available for purchase. For example, the girls and boys had made fragrant herbal salts, beautiful bath balls and great tic-tac-toe games themselves. Some pupils had also baked delicious cookies, which were soon sold out. The Lindenschule T-shirt offered by the school's support association was also very popular due to a special school festival offer and was purchased in large numbers.

A varied international buffet was also offered thanks to the great support of the parents. The delicious dishes had been prepared with a lot of love and effort and there was great enthusiasm at the sight of the buffet. All proceeds went to the Linden School's support association and thus benefited all the children.

The Fairtrade steering group of the Lindenschule had also prepared a Fairtrade knowledge quiz for the "cloth bag painting" offer. The proceeds from the income and donations at this stand went to Benjamin Pütter. Benjamin Pütter actively campaigns for the rights of children worldwide and thus also against child labor.

We would like to take this opportunity to say a big THANK YOU to everyone who contributed to making this school festival such a great success!

We would especially like to thank the planning group, which met regularly over several months to organize the school festival. Parents, staff and, of course, the children were also involved. Mr. Knoche, Mrs. Südholt and Mr. Koch were largely responsible for the implementation of the plans and are therefore mentioned here once again.

A huge thank you also goes to Ms. Wachholz, Ms. Kernebeck and Ms. Niehoff from the Linden School's support association. They not only have their own children in mind, but are also committed to the well-being of all children at the Lindenschule as part of their work in the support association. Without their commitment, many things would not be possible here at the school. The Friends' Association relies on many people getting involved. That is why we would like to take this opportunity to once again call on you to become a member of the Linden School Supporters' Association. Would you like to know how this works and what it means? Please get in touch with us.

We are delighted that we were able to celebrate such a wonderful party at the end of this school year. Many thanks to everyone who helped!
