In this joint activity, math, German, science and social learning were combined in a very practical way. The children first read the recipe, discussed the work steps and divided their tasks fairly between the groups. Along the way, they also learned which foods in the dough fulfill which tasks - a real practical learning opportunity.
Afterwards, things got really lively in the canteen kitchen: The groups prepared their own quark and oil dough. They weighed, measured, kneaded, stirred, cut out and even plaited. The children were very proud of the many creative and individual pastries they produced.
Special thanks go to the mothers who lovingly prepared the baking event, supported it on site and lent a hand afterwards. We would also like to thank the canteen staff, who - as so often - were on hand with advice, experience and good humor.
It was a wonderful, educational and happy morning for everyone involved, which showed how much fun working and learning together can be. Class 4a is starting spring with lots of motivation and a smile!
