Police Chief Superintendent Meyer was a firm and reliable companion of our school life for many years. Whether at the bicycle check in autumn, preparing for the cycling test, providing support during the Lantern Festival, at parents' evenings or in special situations, Mr. Meyer was always there for the Lindenschule. He always had an open ear for questions and concerns and patiently answered the many questions of the inquisitive children. Mr. Meyer will also be particularly remembered as a supporter of reading promotion at the Lindenschule. He regularly visited the first classes on the nationwide reading aloud day and read exciting and funny police stories to the children. The cheerful crowd made their way to the "stage". Children from the first year were already waiting there to present him with the police song they had rehearsed especially for the occasion. They took him into their midst and then everyone sang along. That was great fun!
Afterwards, Mr. Meyer received a lovingly designed book from the first graders and many words of thanks.

At the end, Mr. Meyer was moved and thanked everyone present for the successful surprise. He was surrounded for a long time by children who wanted to personally thank and say goodbye to their "Fiete" and had prepared small letters and pictures.
The Lindenschule school community wishes Chief Superintendent Meyer all the best for the new phase of his life, many wonderful experiences with his family, plenty of time for the things that had to wait until now - and, above all, good health.
