Monti was born in the summer of 2023 and lives with Mrs. Brüning's family. As a Golden Retriever, he is known for his friendly and social nature. These qualities make him an ideal companion in everyday school life. Monti not only supports the children emotionally, but also encourages them to work with motivation and concentration.
The little games that Monti brings into the classroom are a particular highlight. For example, Monti throws the dice to decide which tasks will be worked on next in German lessons. Or he looks for the food bag in the classroom, which contains a drawing task, and decides which child should complete the task. Monti was also used to introduce verbs and adjectives, to discuss what Monti does or what Monti is like. And sometimes the school dog is simply there as a silent and encouraging listener when the children are practising reading aloud. These tasks not only make learning more exciting, but also more interactive and playful.
The use of a school dog promotes important social skills such as empathy, consideration and a sense of responsibility. Monti's presence also helps to reduce stress and anxiety, creating a relaxed learning atmosphere. The children learn through play how to behave respectfully towards animals and other people - a valuable contribution to the school community.
We congratulate Ms. Brüning and her dog on passing their test and are delighted to welcome Monti as a permanent member of our team!
