Once they arrived in Gescher, the pupils were warmly welcomed by Ms. Lange. They then went on an exciting discovery tour of the site. The children learned first-hand what happens to our waste after it has disappeared into the garbage can. They were able to see how waste is sorted and processed - and in some places they could even smell that waste disposal is not always a pleasant business.
After the tour, it was up to the children themselves: as real waste experts, they sorted different types of waste and showed how well they already know how to separate waste correctly.

A special highlight awaited at the end. In an adjacent building, the pupils made new paper from old newspaper. To do this, the paper was first torn up, then processed into a pulp and finally scooped up using a screen frame. Everyone was proud to take home the paper they had made.
With many new impressions, exciting knowledge and a home-made souvenir in their luggage, a varied excursion came to an end that the children will certainly remember for a long time to come.
