This school year, our first-graders started in the Turtle Class (1a) with Ms. Grammel-Engel and in the Dog Class (1b) with Ms. Brüning.
Accompanied by their parents, the excited children were warmly welcomed at our school.

The second-grade boys and girls had prepared a special program. They welcomed everyone in attendance in various languages and performed a short skit based on the book *The Little Dormouse Goes to School*. The little dormouse is very excited about his first day of school. The wise owl gives him an important tip: “If you’re unsure or doubting yourself, remember what you’re already really good at!” The various animals then talked about their own strengths and encouraged the little dormouse and all the new students.

After the young children said goodbye to their teacher, the second-grade students sang the song “We Are Children of One World” and received a big round of applause for all their contributions to the first-day-of-school celebration.
With the message, “Everyone can do something. Everyone is important. Together, we can accomplish a lot!” the new first-graders finally made their way to their classrooms together with their homeroom teachers, where they experienced their first real class as schoolchildren.

Meanwhile, parents and guardians were invited to wait in the parents’ café and chat with one another. We would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to the Friends of the School Association, represented by Ms. Gasiorek and Ms. Kucharska, who provided active support in organizing and carrying out the event. Behind the scenes, there were many hardworking helpers from the school staff who contributed to the success of the first-day-of-school celebration. Thank you very much to everyone!
After this eventful morning, the new students went home feeling proud, happy, and full of new experiences. We wish all first-graders a great start, lots of joy in learning, and a wonderful time at Lindenschule!
